Just some driving. Our Big Trip™ this year is to CA. We fly to the Bay Area for a family reunion and do some sightseeing there, then head south and end up at Disneyland. Whole trip is about two weeks. So no 3,500- mile road trips this year. Which is good and bad. They boys enjoy flying, as do I, but I also enjoy a good road trip. Maybe next summer.

Honestly, I’m not sure how they figure out the schedule. We hew pretty close to the UT-Austin schedule, and they recently changed the Thanksgiving break from three days to the whole week. Too many kids were missing Mon-Tue of that week, so they just gave up and called it Fall Break. That’s actually nice though, because it allows for 9 days of travel. Texas also switched from mandating a certain number of days to a certain number of hours. Not sure how that affects the schedule, honestly.

Me neither and my wife's been a teacher for 20 years. She used to get 12 weeks off a summer and now its 10 with more or longer breaks during the year. I think they got rid of alot of half days too. Something about counting hours and not days like you said.

The problem is that I like to sit on my ass in front of the computer and write, which means that they end up sitting on their ass watching YouTube and it can be had to get them motivated to do any work. But I have sworn to myself that this summer will be different. Gonna make those slugs work.
